In 2012, six-year-old Hailey Ford started a garden to grow food for the homeless in her neighbourhood — since then both the garden and her impact in the community have grown.

Amazing Young Girl Grows Food And Builds Tiny Homes To Help The Homeless

While Hailey Ford might look like any other little girl at first glance, nobody would guess that this amazing girl has built up to 11 tiny cabins and has been farming actively to help the homeless in Kitsap County, Washington.

Since then the garden and her impact to the community have grown.

However, Haley’s mom explained to her that they can’t help everyone because they weren’t a rich family. Hearing that, Ford was feeling quite sad but decided that she will not give up. If she can’t buy food to help these people, she will grow it herself.

So, she decided to grow more vegetables and luckily helped out by her kind neighbours too. With more food coming from her garden, she excitedly washed, packed and prepared to give them to more people in need.

After donating the food from her small farm to the homeless, Ford realised that all these people didn’t have anywhere to sleep properly. “They can’t sleep on the streets. People need to have a house,” told Ford to her mom. Her mother knew that it’s impossible for them to provide a house for the homeless, but Ford didn’t agree. She then started her effort to build these homeless a proper place for them to sleep and have a good rest at night.

Hailey confidently handles her own tools as she builds solid tiny homes for the less fortunate in her community. When they got wind of her noble intentions, the local branch of Lowe’s gave her a 50% discount for all the materials she needed to build the cabins. Her family also helped her out by recycling denim and wood to construct the cabin. The cabin is also provided with a heater.

GoFundMe Fundraiser to Help Hailey's Harvest

Hailey started to help the homeless 4 years ago when she saw someone on the side of the street and asked her mother if there was anything she could do. They bought him lunch and from there Hailey has taken it upon herself to start a garden to donate vegetables and begin building mobile sleeping shelters for the homeless in Kitsap county. This is a GoFundMe fundraising campaign in aid of Hailey’s Harvest.
